Bodies of water in general. No matter my mood, jumping in and swimming always makes me feel better.

This weekend I swam four times. That alone was a sign it was a good one. Sure, there were other highlights. I saw my brother, went rock climbing, caught live music, spent time with friends. But water was the thread that tied it all together. It always is.

In winter, I love frozen water. In summer, anything I can dive into. Sore from a long hike? Wade into a river. Didn’t sleep well after a concert? Jump into an alpine lake. Feeling off? Find the ocean, breathe it in, and get in. You’ll feel better by the end of the day.

Water has a way of resetting everything. It doesn’t fix the world, but it fixes me. And sometimes, that is enough.
